About
How do vintage goods, upcycled fabric quilts, and artisan-made products make sense as a business?
The foundation of Heirloom New England is sustainability. I believe that we need to radically shift the way we shop: we need to source the objects in our home from the rich well of impeccably-made vintage goods; we need to practice slow shopping, and return to buying fewer, higher-quality items; and we need to support the makers in our community. All of this is in the name of treading lightly on the planet’s resources and keeping our shopping footprints hyper-local.
February 2023 has brought the opening of my brick and mortar space in a creative co-op in Norfolk, Massachusetts. This will function as a similarly multi-faceted space. There will be retail available to celebrate our local makers alongside my own handmade goods. And we will offer classes in a range of handcrafts because I believe that teaching heirloom skills is a vital part of community. I would love nothing more than to teach you a skill that you can pass on to your friends, family, and co-workers. Craft is such an important part of my life, and I want to share that with as many people as possible!
